BILL CUNNINGHAM NEW YORK a film by Richard Press
"The “Bill” in question is 80+ New York Times photographer Bill Cunningham. For decades, this Schwinn-riding cultural anthropologist has been obsessively and inventively chronicling fashion trends and high society charity soirées for the Times Style section in his columns “On the Street” and “Evening Hours.” Documenting uptown fixtures (Wintour, Tom Wolfe, Brooke Astor, David Rockefeller—who all appear in the film out of their love for Bill), downtown eccentrics and everyone in between, Cunningham’s enormous body of work is more reliable than any catwalk as an expression of time, place and individual flair. In turn, Bill Cunningham New York is a delicate, funny and often poignant portrait of a dedicated artist whose only wealth is his own humanity and unassuming grace."
I do want to catch this..somehow. Just like "The September Issue", documentaries about fashion-related personalities are too precious to let slip.

Men's Fashion Week Asia
A couple of shots from Men's Fashion Week 2011 in Singapore. We're only the third country to host it after Milan and Paris, can you believe it? Caught JailJeans, Jerome Lorico, JBB, S2VS and A.testoni. I would say it was a really good experience, from the initial fear of being late, to the realisation that no matter how late you are, the shows always start later, to the spotting of major eye candy (+Bryanboy +tons of celebrities) and lust-worthy dresses, to the majestic view of Singapore from Marina Bay Sands and of course, the shows themselves.
The last photo of myself was shot by James Bent from LA MODE OUTRÉ.

'Armor Jewelry'
Collection Eleven..I am speechless. New York-based designer, Sandee Shin busted out this beautiful collection after a hard 8 months, and every single piece is an investment. So sleek, so chic, so timeless..I'm yearning so badly for the band ring and cuff in the very last picture. With such statement pieces, do you style your jewelry around your clothes or the other way round? Check her out HERE.

Actually S/S ’11: COLOR RUSH
Beer, Marble Slab ice-cream, goodie bags coupled with models drapped in beautiful clothes filling the runway and a wonderful time catching up with friends..I really couldn't ask for more. The show opened with a touching contemporary dance which then led on to the main focus - the clothes. From whimsical ethereal pieces to structured, colour-blocked pieces, I found myself lusting over this little dress with the most beautiful white-blue cape with flutters with your every movement..

Topshop Spring Summer Breakfast Party
While majority of people were still tucked under their duvets at 10am, on a Saturday morning, the fashionable crowd gathered at Topshop Knightsbridge for a delightful breakfast, as well as to catch a glimpse of Personal Shopper Anny Lin and the ever so humble, Ginette Chittick. Both whom willingly shared with the crowd their trend picks for this Spring Summer season.
Anny(in the blue top) dished out the 4 trends for Topshop this season: Graduation, New Age Constellation, Snake Valley and Swedish Summer. New Age Constellation would be my #1 choice, with it's clean lines and minimalistic take on the different article of clothings, I fell deeply in love when I first saw the lookbook online. Snake Valley would be #2, appealing to my bohemian side, which I've been extremely fond of for quite some time now. Graduation encompasses the preppy, post-school girl vibe, with the Alexa Chung-popularised Peter Pen collar, as well as scallop cut-outs. Swedish Summer on the other hand, is all about clean denim, sweet florals and flowing chiffon.
Ginette gave Anny a task, which was to create 2 completely different outfits with this pleated black pants shown above, as well as the coral assymetrical top shown below. Both items hand-picked by Ginette herself!
Anny clearly nailed the challenge without trouble! She even included the Knitted Black Suede Tassel Jacket I've been lusting over for ages! Book an appointment with her for professional advice on how to spice up your dressing. Just call 6733 6684 for an appointment, as easy as that. Not forgetting, it won't cost you a single cent if you're a F3 member!
Cue frantic picking out of clothes, trying them on, and busting out the trusty credit card.
Check out the latest makeup collection: Sandstorm. Got myself a crayon(WHICH REFUSES TO BUDGE, TRUST ME. IT STAYS ON LIKE NEVER BEFORE) and a lipgloss!
Mmm..a tea station and plenty of staff milling around with endless trays of chocolates, pastries and juices!
The event was lovely to the largest degree, with english breakfast coupled with the crazy discount. Not forgetting well-dressed people with every turn of your head! I'll leave you with valuable advice from the one and only Ginette Chittick, owner of FruFru and Tigerlily as well as DJ at HomeClub: Don't follow trends blindly, it is more wise if your outfit revolved around one key piece. No one wears a whole trend out, so mix, match, and play around with the existing items in you wardrobe.
